Overboard? A little.. maybe.

Characters: Priscilla & Samael
Date and Time: Saturday, May 24, 9:00 p.m.
Location: Southampton Village, New York // Whitney Estate
About: Yes, everything Priscilla does is over-the-top. But it's also fabulous.
Rating: PG
Status: In Progress
-----

She probably should have felt a little guilty. Rushing Violet and Jack out of the house wasn't exactly polite - and demanding that Jack's post-biking shower be less than five minutes long was nowhere near polite. But she needed them gone, the house needed to be empty before Leon finished his post-biking shower. So off they were bundled, Jack with his hair still wet and Violet with one of Scilla's sweaters and a blanket shoved into her arms. They would find some way to occupy themselves - they'd been making heart-shaped eyes at each other all day, from brunch to sailing to the disastrous dirt-biking outing.

And once they were gone, Scilla raced around the house like a mad-woman, trying to make sure everything was ready. The 200+ candles she'd arranged were all lit, scattered over the terrace haphazardly by her own hands and Vi's as soon as Priscilla heard the water upstairs turn on. There was food laid out in the gazebo, and cushions for sitting on. A flick of the switch beside the back door took down most of the lights, and she gave the over-the-top-romantic scene a last look. Violet was right, she overdid everything... but her efforts usually turned out nicely, so that was okay.

Once it was done, once she was sure that everything was perfect, she stationed herself at the bottom of the stairway and listened. The water had turned off only a few minutes before, but he'd had enough time to at least start getting dressed. Priscilla tried not to picture him prior to dressing, busying herself instead with calling up the stairs - she could hear him moving about up there. "Leon? Are you hungry? I was thinking of dinner..."

Bikinis fix pretty much everything.

Characters: Priscilla & Leon
Date and Time: Friday, May 23, 10:30 p.m.
Location: Southampton Village, New York // Whitney Estate
About: Okay, seeing Jack and Violet making out was a little bit awkward... but it can be forgotten about, and the evening redeemed, right? Priscilla would much rather remember a night of playing in the ocean and cuddling up on the sand than interrupting her best friend's pool-party. Continued from here.
Rating: PG
Status: In Progress
-----

Priscilla had never been so happy to get away from her own pool in her entire life.

With as shy as Jack and Violet had been together, she honestly hadn't been expecting them to have been... busy. Sure, it was a nice surprise - it meant she didn't have to plot any more to get them hooked up. But some warning would have been nice. She'd have to talk with Vi about some sort of warning system... especially since Violet would be staying with her while her parents were in Chicago. Another scene like that was possibly the last thing that Priscilla wanted... ever. Ever.

Ever.

But walking hand-in-hand with Leon down the wooden walkway to the beach was nice, she had to admit. It was quiet, and not too cold. It would be warmer in July, the night more humid and better for swimming... but the May weather was perfect, and being cold was part of dipping in the ocean, right? They would both live, she was almost positive.

"I'm sorry about that," she ventured. "I had no idea.."
Good morning, sunshine!

Characters: Priscilla & Violet - Jack & Samael later
Date and Time: Saturday, May 24, 8:30 a.m.
Location: Southampton Village, New York // Whitney Estate
About: Breakfast doesn't have to be gourmet all the time... but it's usually a good thing not to burn down the house.
Rating: G
Status: In Progress
-----

It was still pretty early when footsteps on the stairway leading down to the kitchen brought Priscilla's head up. She'd been up for over an hour, awake with the birds for no rational reason - and instead of waking her guests, she'd slipped down to the kitchen by herself and cobbled together a nice little breakfast for herself. It wasn't hunger that woke her, but once she was there, she felt ravenous. So she'd dined on a smattering of fruits (a sliced orange, a handful of grapes) and vegetables (a stalk of celery, cut up and topped with peanut butter and raisins).

And as Violet came into view, she was perched on one of the pristine countertops in her PJs and a long robe, her bare legs dangling over the cabinets. Beside her was a plate - and on that plate? Toast with butter and strawberry jelly. It wasn't a gourmet breakfast, but it was absolutely delicious and it was one of Scilla's rare casual moments. A win for everyone involved.

Just seeing Violet coming into the kitchen made her grin, but she daintily took another bite of toast before she piped up. "Morning, Vi. Did you have a good night?"

-

Vi groaned and rubbed her eyes. She'd never been a morning person, even if she did have to good luck to be one of the rare few that looked good when she woke up. "I did until I almost drowned, thanks. And you?" She wandered over to her friend with only the slightest tired weave in her path and picked a celery stick off the plate, biting into it without so much as a guilty flicker of thought. "You got back a lot early then I thought you would. Thought you wanted along snuggling time with your new toy."

Not that Priscilla's interruption had done much damage to her night. Sure, it had caused her to inhale an inordinate amount of chlorine, but it had all ended in laughter anyway between her and her swim partner. And she's stayed carefully on the shallow end of the pool for the remainder of the night. Where Jack hovered over her like a giant, but...at least she wouldn't fall under again. So much for trusting Jack with her life, she thought ruefully, sense of humor returning with food and increasing wakefulness. She was dressed in short PJ shorts and a tank, nothing any fancier then what Scilla had on but plenty enough to keep her comfortable wandering the huge place. No one should be offended, and that's all she really cared about.

-

"You almost drowning wasn't my fault. I certainly didn't tell you to hang precariously from Jack's neck in water over your head. But you seemed to be having a good time with it," she grinned, finishing off the piece of toast. Although she hadn't meant to intrude, Priscilla didn't come out and apologize for it. How was she supposed to know, anyway? "Maybe we should develop a code. When you're going to be... occupying the pool, you leave your sandals in the middle of the kitchen floor." Still grinning, she picked up a piece of the celery herself, trying not to get peanut butter on her fingers.

"Or you could always just leave me a text message. And Leon is not a toy - I can't believe you would even say that. He's very sweet, and I adore him, and we had plenty of time to cuddle up together on the beach while you and Jackie were canoodling. I take it you guys found things to talk about?"

-

"We did. Sci-fi and chick flicks." Vi grinned, feeling energized by the childish ants-on-a-log treat she'd discovered (stolen). "And you know, I really am going to use the sandals idea. Not that it matters, this is our last day here. But since we stole the pool last night, you can have it tonight and we'll find something else to do." This daily alone time with the guys was an inspired idea. Scilla deserved a prize later-maybe she could actually treat the socialite to a dinner some time soon.

"Anyway, beach. The beach is nice. Get sand between your toes and in your underwear, did ya?" Leaning elbows on the counter to relax, she propped her chin on a hand and looked up (way up, at this angle) into the other girl's eyes. "Did you even swim?"

-

"Good - I have something planned. I'm going to need your help, before you take off with Jack, too." It just felt weird, asking Maria to help her scatter candles all over the terrace and gazebo and then take off for the evening. She had the feeling she'd get a bilingual lecture for the entire thing, and that just didn't appeal at all to her. "So don't forget. I'll try not to keep you too long."

As for the beach... the pleased smile that spread over Priscilla's lips was telling - it was utterly Cheshire in nature, and accompanied by an innocent little shrug. Scil took her time answering, choosing instead to nibble on her pre-school inspired treat. Some things were eternally delicious. "Yes, we did some swimming, and it was a lot of fun. But it was freezing, and then we had to cuddle up on the sand to get warm again. And I did not get sand in my bikini, thank you."

-

"Too bad, he might've gotten it out for you," Vi teased. All in all, she was happy that Priscilla had found Leon. even if he was quite a bit older than them, the two seemed just right for one another. At least, as far as she could tell, anyway. "What did you do all night? You got back pretty late." Nice dinner, walk in on...well, being wrapped around the guy you'd set her up on would be an amusing way to find your friend. Then there was beach time. And they'd gotten back a bit past midnight, and then only due to the May air chill. Or, that's what Vi was guessing was the cause.

"Men are lazy," she forged on, picking up a knife to add more peanut butter from the still-open jar to her celery. "It's almost nine. You'd think the businessman, at least, would have gone bolt-upright in bed and called for breakfast."

-

Giggling, Priscilla slipped from the countertop and padded on bare feet over to the kitchen's island, where there were stools for her to perch on. The weekend away had been a great idea, even if her thinking so wasn't especially humble. Jack and Vi had been given a chance to get over their insecurities, and she and Leon to get to know one another away from doormen and society gatherings.

"We just... talked, a lot. We had dinner at the Publick House," she started, and already the story was further away from the glitz of Manhattan than most people figured Scilla had ever been. The casual microbrewery was no La Goulue, even if their clam chowder was the best to be had on the coast. "And then we just sort of walked around. Went into a couple of the shops, looked around in the Village... but it was really nice, just wandering around town with him." Maybe it was Violet's imagination, but Priscilla seemed to be actually blushing for a moment there. "And then we came in on you, of course. After that, we just played in the water and on the beach, and..." There was a pause, and then a vague shrug of the girl's silk-covered shoulders. "And then we came in. I showered and went to bed, I'm pretty sure he did the same thing."

She was, truth be told, glad for the distracting comment about the time. "Eh, let them sleep. I bet they never get to sleep late in the city. Besides, they might want our celery."

-
"This is true," Vi allowed, polishing off her early-morning snack and reaching for another one. "So, you talked." Made out. But she believed they probably did have a lot to talk about. "So, you have a plan for tonight. Whatever it is." She shrugged, pausing to snap off another bite of a new stick and chew. "Have any ideas for us?" Because if it wasn't a movie night or some expedition to Broadway, Vi was more or less lost. She wasn't a very social person. Not that she didn't like people, but...she wasn't the cheerful companion for everyone she looked like she should be.

Thankfully, her homework had been done after pulling a late-nighter on Thursday, or she'd probably be holed up in her guest room doing that for the night. Maybe asking Jack for help. Study groups, after all, were a great place to make out.

"You know the Hamptons a lot better than me, and you know what I like doing." Another little shrug. "My happiness rests in your capable hands." Because Scilla was amazing at planning. She had, after all, set the whole weekend up and had some invasive plot for tonight for her and her boy. Vi was more than ready for Scil to share that amazing brain.

-

"Well, getting busy in the pool is out," Scilla teased, sucking peanut butter off the tips of her fingers before thoughtfully laying them against one of her temples. "But there are tons of things to do. If you want a night in, there's always the theater room, or you could take some fireworks down to the beach... Oh! I know what you should do. You should go into town, have an early supper at Paul's or something."

She paused, munching on her celery and peanut butter, aware that the silence would drive Violet nuts. "And then go to that thing they do when it gets dark. The movie thing, the one in the park? Where they show the old movies on the wall of the building? That's always really romantic." It sounded better -- at least to Scilla -- than homework in the guest room. Also, it got them far away from her romantic evening plans.

-

"Paul's, then movie in the park?" Vi considered. She could run that by Jack, and the theater idea. But, well, if they were going to be cuddling up in his theater room soon, going out seemed like the better idea. "Um...not that I think this'll be a problem, but can I have an allowance?" She smiled sheepishly and toyed with her snack. "I mean, I can pay you back. And definitely give it back if I don't need it. But I've never liked going anywhere broke and I spent all my money on that necklace yesterday." A very nice necklace with a big teardrop ruby that would go very well with a certain green dress she had at home. She never, ever bought jewelry, so she'd blown all of her hard-earned money (what she'd been given by her parents for the duration of her stay at the Whitneys') on the thing. Though, given the simple diamond choker and the one red drop...what was she going to say? Who cared? Her mind had gone back to mentally marveling at her purchase and she couldn't manage to feel bad about that bit of shopping.

"Do they have blankets in the park? Because it’s going to be freezing. Did I bring a coat?" She frowned. Alright, Vi, one question at a time.

-

"Take a blanket with you. And leave the coat - that's what he's for. You can take one of my light sweaters; I have a couple in my bedroom closet. And if you don't want to go to the park for the movie, you can still hit the beach or something. Just... steer clear of the pool and the gazebo?"

Money wouldn't be an issue; she could get some cash from an ATM when they went into town for lunch. It was their last day on the coast, and Priscilla was sorry for that - she would have liked to stay, to start summer early and just languish at the beach house for the whole season. But there were things in New York that they had to go back to... internships and the last bit of the school year, college applications and errands for parents. Her only consolation was that they weren't being scattered. The Upper East Side was still their haven, Manhattan remained their playground.

They would be saying goodbye to capris and boat-neck blouses and sailing, but maybe not to romantic dinners and making out.

-

"Check. Light sweater, take a blanket, and steer clear of your nookie spots." She nodded in mock seriousness. "But really, Scil, what are you planning for tonight? It has to be pretty big if you need help setting up." Maybe not all that expansive a project, but definitely detailed.

-

Scilla rolled her eyes, leaning forward to brace her elbows on the island. An explanation like this would require more celery... and conveniently, there were two pieces left on the plate, as well as some grapes. She went for one of the celery pieces. "Just dinner." And maybe that would have been it - except this was Vi, and she didn't think that Vi would let it go at just that. "Alone. Here. In the gazebo on a picnic blanket." She paused, bit off a hunk of celery.

"I might have ordered two hundred of those little crystal tea-light holders with candles, too."

-

"Oh!" Her girl-mode had powered on. Finally, Vi was wide awake. "Candle-lit picnic at night? I should have thought of that. Maybe I can light some candles at the park." She laughed and snatched the last of her friend's celery. "This is a surprise, I'm guessing?" Easy to work with. She was good at keeping secrets. Well, she had to be. Speaking of which, "No incidents so far with stopping things? I know you’re getting better." Teeth clicked around peanut butter and brown eyes watched Scilla carefully. Surely if there had been some kind of incident she would have heard.

Which meant if there hadn't been an incident then, well, great! Progress.

-

"If you just jinxed me, I'm going to kill you," Priscilla intimated casually, smiling around the last bite of her celery. Maria would have been weirded out by their non-traditional breakfast - it didn't have egg-white omelettes or anything - but it was working really well for the girls. Besides, Maria had been left a note with instructions to hit the farmers' market for some quality dinner-prep.

"Nothing big, nothing yet. I had an issue at dinner with a spoon and some iced tea, but I don't think anyone noticed. Mohinder was right, the deep breathing helps. Yoga's better for me than I thought, apparently."

-

Vi laughed at that. Yoga just didn't seem like a super-powered chill pill. "Well, even that could have just been a thoughtful pause or space-out session or something. I think you're good." Of course, she'd already said he was good since no one had seen. "I'm not going to jinx you. I've got good luck." She patted the penny in her PJ short pocket and smiled. Not that Scilla knew what the heck she was talking about, but she liked the idea of having a lucky penny.

Alright, so it wasn't the fanciest thing Jack could have found her. But she liked it. She bought herself the shiny jewels; he got her the random thoughtful pressies. It all worked out. "You should be so lucky as to spend more time with me. Now. I'm guessing we're all doing something this afternoon? And sending the guys off to do man work while we set up Leon's dinner?"

-

"Lunch! And then sailing. I promised Leon that he'd get to see my father's boat, apparently he loves to sail. And I'm rather fond of lying around in a bikini, so I think it works out well. I hope Jack doesn't get seasick," she mused thoughtfully, getting up to put away their short stack of dishes. "I figure he would have warned us. I mean, I think I mentioned the sailing before... I can never remember. Anyway, sailing should be fun, and then the boys can do... something. I don't know, we'll think of something."

By the time she finished, she had wandered away from the sink and was pulling open the door to the pantry, peering inside. "So, do you think waffles would wake them up? I'd kill for some brunch-time shopping..."

-

"Waffles sound great. With strawberries and blueberries." She could have sworn she'd spotted them in there the night before when she and Jack had invaded the fridge. "I'll cut them up." She always did prefer whipped cream and fruit on her waffles and pancakes. Syrup was for rare sugar-holic mornings. "Maybe the guys can play a sport. Or, after Leon's sailing, Jack can take over with biking." And maybe just saying they had female stuff to discuss they'd run for the hills and save them the effort of coming up with something.

"You've got the waffles, right? Cause if I have to make them the alarm'll go off again. Which will definitely wake them up."

-

"I've got the waffles," Priscilla confirmed, stepping into the pantry to get the mix. A moment later, she was tilting her head at the directions on the box. It seemed pretty straightforward... and the waffle iron that Maria used didn't seem complicated either. "I mean, really... how hard can it be? Grab the berries; we'll need to cut up the strawberries. In the fridge, bottom left-hand side."

One way or another, the boys would wake up - either to the sweet smell of fruit-topped success, or to smoke inhalation and the fire alarm.
Writing Exercise - Aftermath
Characters: Priscilla, Samael
Date and Time: currently unknown
Location: Odessa, Texas
About: Refusing to deal with an event doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
Rating: R - violence, very mild sexual content
Status: Complete.
-----

Her heart was pounding; she could hear the rush of blood in her ears, so loud that it seemed to drown everything else out. There were other souunds, she knew there were. They had been there a moment before - Jack was yelling at her, there were still bursts of gunfire, cries of pain when those bullets met flesh. But for her, the noise was gone - all gone. It had been covered by the sound of her own breathing, the roar of her own heartbeat.

The rest of the madness faded away, her vision narrowing in at the edges until it was just the two of them. Soon, all she could see was her own outstretched hand and the way his eyes widened when her fingertips moved. She could feel all of it now. It wasn't just a tingle, not this time. This time she could feel the flow of energy everywhere, like she'd dipped her hand into a pool of it. This time it responded to her, came naturally under her control like it was part of her. She flexed her fingers, reaching for him across the room... and then they were connected in a way that was beyond even her wildest dreams. Her index finger twitched, and the invisible flow between them changed - the balance tipped.

She watched his eyes as she turned him off one piece at a time, siphoning away the bursts of kinetic energy that fueled him little-by-little. Under her careful direction, the muscles in his throat stopped expanding and contracting, leaving his breath to become stale and useless. He struggled to breathe, but his lung function slowed to a crawl. She could see it the moment that he became aware, could see the light in his eyes come on, realization dawning. Fear came a second later, but she didn't empathize with his fear. No mercy welled inside her, even when he raised his hands to his throat. His weapon, the weapon he'd fired at Violet, clattered uselessly to the ground.

It didn't matter, it wasn't important anymore. The only thing that mattered was the feel of the energy seeping out of him, stolen through their secret, special bond. She took it slowly, so slowly, and enjoyed watching his eyes become glassy when she quieted the beats of his hammering heart. The frantic pulses eased back to a steady, normal beat... and then slowed to a languid thump... and then finally, were nothing more than a meek flutter. She could feel them, feel the ripples in the energy that they produced. There was more - it was all at the edge of her awareness, the vast amounts of energy in play during this one moment. But she didn't reach for it. She was busy.

Her own pulse had slowed, she'd regulated her breathing the same way she had that day in Mohinder's apartment. She was calm, as serene as a December morning. And when she stole the last of the motion from his heart, she felt a gratified rush. He would never hurt Violet again, he would never hurt anyone again. She would make sure. Her hand, still outstretched, steadied. And then in one final movement, curled into a tight fist.

When her eyes opened, Priscilla was confronted with a dark, unfamiliar room. It took her several moments to recall where she was, what had happened, who she was with. It was Leon's chest rising and falling beneath her cheek, she was wrapped up in his blankets, curled up against his side. Odessa. They were still in Odessa. Lifting her head just a little, she surveyed the hotel room. It was foreign, filled with unfamiliar shadows and ominous shapes. Everything seemed threatening, hostile. But there were no lurking agents, no monsters in the dark... just the hotel furniture, the shadows cast by the muted light coming in through the window.

"Priscilla?" Distracted, she hadn't noticed Samael stirring. It wasn't until his fingers were in her hair, until he said her name, that she realized she'd woken him. Shifting a little closer, she tucked her head back against his bare shoulder. It was safer there, he made it seem safer there. Perhaps more importantly, he made it easy to forget everything that had happened. He hadn't asked her a million difficult questions - just burned everything away, brought her back to a place where she was in control. The anger and fear were gone, and the cold rage... now there were only shadows and warm skin. Leon was solid, he was real. He would protect her. He loved her.

"I thought I heard something," she lied, closing her eyes. She didn't open them again, but it seemed like a long time before she slipped into sleep's quiet oblivion.

-----
Fin.

Priscilla Whitney - Expanded Profile

Demographics
Name: Priscilla Leighanne Whitney
Age: 16
DOB: October 29th
Sex: Female
Height: 5'5"
Weight: about 110 lbs.
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Hair: Brown - Chocolate
Eyes: Brown - Dark
Sexuality: Heterosexual - Priscilla has very little experience with boyfriends or romance. Her tightly-packed schedule and driven nature leave her little time for male suitors. Going to an all-girls school limits her choices as well, although lately she's met more than one interesting young man...

Ability: Kinetic Void - the ability to create a 'dead zone' of kinetic energy, draining her target and bringing them to a dead stop upon contact. This is easiest to manifest through physical contact with a person or object, when touching her target will drain the kinetic energy out of them immediately. Recently, she has been able to expand her range slightly, creating a field of this void that extends several inches beyond her body.

As Priscilla's control over her ability grows, her fields will become further reaching and stronger. With practice, she will be able to drain the kinetic energy out of a specific target without touching them, to siphon off limited amounts of energy, and to direct her power at highly specific areas of a complex object (such as stopping the turning of a single cog in a pocket-watch.)

Personality: Priscilla is a charming young woman, there can be no doubt about that. She's spent her entire life learning to be charming and well-rounded. In her element, Scill is confident and smooth, a born leader. She has a penchant for being assertive (read: bossy) and doesn't often take 'no' for an answer. Depending on which tactic is more appropriate, Priscilla can be extremely subtle and somewhat devious or what her friends sometimes describe as charming-with-a-sledgehammer. Capable of brilliant planning, Scill is more often impulsive and almost thoughtless - she's perfectly willing to act first and think later (if at all.)

Used to having everything she desires, Priscilla is casual about money and all things connected with it. She spends extravagantly without thinking twice, and never hesitates to drop her family name when it will aid her. At the same time, she's very generous with her friends and loved ones, and spares no expense to keep them happy and entertained. Despite her abundance of wealth, Priscilla doesn't think that money can solve every problem, nor does she throw money blindly at the problems she comes across. Money is just a tool, useful for getting to the bottom of issues.

History: Priscilla Whitney was born into a world of old money and privilege, one firmly ensconced in all things glittering and golden. The Whitneys were Manhattan royalty, a family with a fortune built on racehorses and sound business decisions. Charles and Isabella Whitney doted upon their only daughter, showering her with the very best of all things. She and her friends had things that other families could only imagine - guaranteed places in private schools as early as preschool, summers in the Hamptons, spring trips to Monaco. Pretty and privileged, Priscilla enjoyed all the finer things in life. Sure, maybe she didn't enjoy a close relationship with her parents, but she had plenty of other things and people to keep her occupied.

Priscilla had a plan for her life - it involved finishing high school at the top of her class, going to an Ivy League school, and marrying into money as old as the Whitney family's. Later, it also involved a poolside cabana, a gaggle of nannies to take care of her children, and the key to an ever-stocked liquor cabinet. She looked on the life that she would lead with a sense of resignation, and did everything in her power to ignore the nagging voice in the back of her head that kept telling her she could be something more. What more could one be, after all, than New York's upper crust?

All of her plans changed on an April morning. Running late to school, Priscilla stepped out onto a city street without looking - and directly into the path of an oncoming car. The impact should have killed her... but there was no impact. At least, not the sort that should have accompanied a speeding car. It barely seemed to touch her, and stopped dead the moment that it did. The vehicle stayed stopped until Priscilla had stepped safely back onto the sidewalk, leaving her dazed and wide-eyed instead of in a broken heap on the pavement.

Reeling, Scilla shared her frightening story with her best friend, a girl from a good family whose wealth had dwindled over the last several generations. Violet Reynolds had been Priscilla's best friend since pre-school, and accepted her secret willingly. A scant few weeks later, Vi was spilling her own secret. It wasn't long before some research brought the girls to Chandra Suresh's Activating Evolution and from there to the doorstep of Mohinder Suresh.

Points of Interest
Family: Charles and Isabella Whitney

Friends: Violet Reynolds, Jack Fortescue, Jamie Colton, Mohinder Suresh, Charlotte Noble, Leon Samael Saffran

Residence: 502 Park Avenue, Penthouse (31st & 32nd floor), Manhattan; Upper East Side - a four bedroom penthouse with 6.5 bathrooms, an entertaining terrace, a ballroom, a library, and an eat-in kitchen. Priscilla enjoys the personal attention of her nanny/maid Maria, as well as the full hotel services of her building (including round-the-clock doorman and concierge services, valet parking, and a private health club.) Views include Central Park, Park Avenue and the Manhattan skyline.

Priscilla spends her summer holidays and several weekends throughout the warmer part of the year at her parents' beachfront estate outside Southampton Village, New York. This waterfront house boasts 9 bedrooms, 11 full baths, and 4 powder rooms. This 4 year project was completed in 2004, is situated on approximately 11 acres of which 6 are Peconic Land Trust natural preserve lands with 1,000' oceanfront and 1000' pond front. In addition to the home, there is a connecting two story enclosed gazebo, a sunken tennis court, gunite pool and Jacuzzi, pool house, private walkway to beach and pond with wooden dock.

Education: Nightingale-Bamford School; university of choice remains Yale, second choice is Princeton

Occupation: Student; Intern for DA Nathan Petrelli's campaign

Religion: Priscilla is a Christian, but isn't religious. She devotes herself to no particular church, and does not attend religious services regularly.

Cultural Notes: Scil and her friends are often found dining at Manhattan's best restaurants (La Goulue for lunch, Butter for dinner), taking in Broadway's hottest shows, or spending weekends in the Hamptons at her family's home there.

Favorites
Movie: Breakfast at Tiffany's
Food: Lobster. Or maybe cherry popsicles.
Song: Nancy Sinatra - These Boots Are Made For Walkin'
Color: Petal Pink
Actress: Audrey Hepburn
Actor: Jason Statham
Band: Cartel, Paramore
Vacation: Greek Isles, Monaco, Tuscany
Animal: Beagle puppies, cats (that belong to other people), turtles
Restaurant: La Goulue
Labels: D&G, Prada, Louboutin, Armani, Dior, Chloe, Roberto Cavalli, Zac Posen, Milly, Valentino, Miu Miu, Versace, Marchesa, Jimmy Choo, DKNY, Abaeté
Uncontrolled, unreliable, and extremely inconvenient to a high-school student.

History: Priscilla Whitney was born into a world of old money and privilege, one firmly ensconced in all things glittering and golden.

Afraid and confused, Priscilla now lives shrouded in doubt - what does this ability mean? Who can she trust with this weird secret? And how the hell is she supposed to think about the SATs when she has to worry about sucking the kinetic energy out of anyone and anything she touches?

Brief description of personality: In her element, Priscilla is charming and confident, a born leader. All her life, she's been groomed to be perfect - everything from lessons in diction to a bonafide cotillion. She's popular, can have a scathing wit when the mood takes her, and generally dominates an audience without much effort. And if she's always wished for something deeper and more meaningful than her trust fund, she does an amazing job of hiding it.

Only recently has Priscilla found herself at the mercy of self-doubt and worry. She's completely at a loss for how to handle the power that seems to manifest itself at the most inconvenient moments possible. Unwilling to confide in her parents or friends, she feels horribly isolated in the world, desperate for someone or something to cling to.

In the Roleplay
Goals for your character: a meaningful relationship unrelated to her inheritance; some sort of understanding and control over her power, a place in one alliance or another, friends and general in-plot awesomeness
How your character will contribute to the roleplay: Priscilla has the potential to be an amazing character - she has an interesting power that could go a long way toward helping who or whatever finds out about her first or gains her trust.

Writing sample
Third Person POV:

Late, late - she was running so late! It seemed like a hundred little things had gone wrong that morning, like the world had conspired to make her late for school on a day that it would really matter! Honestly, spending twenty minutes searching for a missing shoe wasn't the norm in the Whitney household - it smacked of universal conspiracy, to Pris. Plot to make her tardy for the morning assembly or not, she was making good time - a couple more minutes, and she'd be scampering up the front steps to the NBS auditorium. Hopefully she'd get there before the last bell, and avoid a dirty look from the Headmistress for all her trouble.

Concentrating on her goal, the petite brunette didn't think twice before she stepped off the curb. It was the sound of screeching brakes that brought her head up, that parted her crimson-glossed lips in surprise. Priscilla found herself staring at the sloping front window of a town car. She could barely make out the horrified expression of the man behind the wheel through the glare on the glass, there was barely time for her to register the squealing tires. Pris threw up her hands, shied away from the impact she knew was coming. She felt the brush of metal against her skirt, felt the hood ornament press against the curve of her hip... and then there was nothing.

When she opened her eyes, the car was still there in front of her - it had stopped, just stopped in place. Pris stared at it with furrowed brows. Maybe she wasn't a science-whiz, but.. didn't that violate the laws of physics? A glance upward deepened her concern. The man behind the will was conspicuously still, his eyes widened - car and driver were frozen before her. As if to prove to herself that it was happening, the girl brushed her fingertips against the hood of the car before she stepped back, retreating onto the curb again.

The world seemed to exhale. Bewildered, the driver sucked in a deep breath. It took him a long moment to lift his foot off the brake, to get his car moving again. Several minutes after the black town car disappeared, Pris glanced to her right and took a step down off the curb, hurrying across the street. She'd undoubtedly missed the last bell, and had no chance at all of avoiding the Headmistress' dirty look when she slipped into the assembly late... but suddenly, she wasn't so concerned.

First Person POV: You're under control, Pris. Everything is under control.

That's what I keep telling myself. It's become a sort of mantra in my head, something I repeat silently a hundred times before I leave for school every morning and at least a million more times throughout my day. I say it to myself every time one of my girlfriends puts their arm around my shoulders, every time I pose for one of Kati's goofy pictures, every time one of the girls in gym-class accidentally bumps into me. Maybe if I say it enough, weird things will stop happening to me, maybe this will all just go away and let me get back to my normal life.

Not that my life was all that normal to start with. But at least it had routines. They didn't involve the weird looks my friends give me when they touch me and suddenly can't move. I pretend not to know what's going on, and so far no one's said anything about it, but... how long before they start talking to each other? They didn't involve the skittish glances that Maria has been giving me, either. Ever since that morning, the one when she was brushing my hair and couldn't make the brush move, everything has been weird between us. Can I trust her with what's going on? She's been with my family for years, but... I wonder if she would understand, or if she'd just run to tell my parents.

They can't know, they can never know. What would Charles Isaac Whitney do if he found out his daughter was some kind of freak? I don't think my next trip out of the country would be to a resort with my friends, I can tell you that much.</lj></lj>
